Short Description
The Laboratory of Photogrammetry was founded in 1962 and has significant educational and research activity worldwide. It serves the scientific areas of Photogrammetry andComputer Vision, as well as Cadastre and Land Administration.
Education
Undergraduate studies: 3 Compulsory and 6 elective courses
Postgraduate: Participation in the following Interdisciplinary Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programmes
- MSc in Geoinformatics
- Protection of Monuments- Direction A: Conservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings and Complexes
- Protection of Monuments- Direction B: Materials and Maintenance Interventions
Research
Basic and applied research in Photogrammetry and Computer Vision:
- 3D Reconstruction and Mapping with Aerial, Satellite, Terrestrial and Underwater Images as well as LIDAR and SAR data,
- Classification and Segmentation of images and 3D Point Clouds,
- Geometric Documentation, 3D Modeling of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage
- Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM),
- Virtual and Augmented Reality Applications
- Monitoring of dynamically changing environments,
- Development of multidimensional land information management systems.
The area of Cadastre and Land administration includes legal, technical, financial and administrative tools for securing real estate and the good management of land, marine space and the built environment:
- Real estate law, technical legislation,land use, property valuation and taxation
- Modern methods for the adjudication of rights, compilation of cadastral diagrams, databases and standardization
- Modern information technology and land information systems
